Description
Forest grown dried Shiitake mushrooms are perfect for soups, stews, stir-frys, and even pizza toppings. We use premium Shiitake mushrooms to make our dried product. The mushrooms are sliced thinly and dried at 42C under natural light to promote maximum nutritional content. We remove the stems before drying as the dried stems are difficult to re-hydrate and can be unpalatable. The dried mushroom caps are then lightly vacuum sealed for safe storage. The dried Shiitake typically retain approximately 10% of their original weight when dried, so expect substantial swelling after re-hydration.
Dried shiitake mushrooms will store indefinitely in their vacuum sealed bags; however once you open them, store them in sealed plastic bags or containers in dark. cool and dry conditions and use them within 6-12 months. Our dried oyster mushrooms sell out quickly, so make sure you check their availability here first.
